The Coaching project aims to set up the development of new volunteers and peer activities for local residents and asylum seekers with an immigrant background. The idea is to create a group of volunteers and experts with an immigrant background to help residents living in the Helsinki metropolitan area with substance abuse and mental health problems.
The activities are open to all, but pay particular attention and address to young immigrants at risk of exclusion, their families, and those close to them.
In the first phase of the project’s launch in the autumn of 2020, MPMTO ry will organize workshop-type events in Helsinki to work out a detailed action and implementation plan for the project. Partners, authorities, immigrants, and peoples are invited to participate in the workshops.
MPMTO ry objective is to create a natural interaction and commitment to developing activities together with the communities.
We are monitoring the pandemic situation, therefore if necessary, the workshops will be arranged by video conference, phone, or alternative communication means.
